Benson Boone delivered a spectacular performance on the ICON Festival Stage in Smale Park on Monday evening, September 30th with the help of opener Daniel Seavey.

Benson Boone rose to fame on the social media platform TikTok and has become a growing sensation, making his fans more excited to see him in person instead of on their phones.

This is Benson’s first world tour for his debut album “Fireworks and Rollerblade”, fans listened to his first album live.

The evening started like no other with an opener that no one knew the name of due to his small following compared to Benson Boone’s (H(1)) but after the first song everyone was hooked. Daniel Seavey got the audience in the mood His most popular songs “Can We Pretend That We’re Good?” and “I tried” even released a new song for the audience: “Gateway Drug”.

Daniel (H(2) made sure to include the audience in almost every song. While fans were jumping around and singing as loud as they could, he jumped down from the platform he was performing on and sang right in front of him, waking up the audience a desire to hear more and viewers didn’t want the evening to end. Mia Dowdy, who was hearing Daniel for the first time, said she was going home tonight “just to hear more of his music.”

Daniel Seavey thrilled the audience for the evening’s main actor, Benson Boone. Even before Benson came out, everyone was screaming at the top of their lungs, and when he did, the audience lost it.

Benson wore a tailored vest that read “Cincinnati” in yellow lettering on the back. He started his night with “Be Someone” and after the song was over, he did his iconic backflip off the piano and had the crowd going wild.

Benson even added his song “Friend” back to the setlist without knowing why he removed it, explaining that it was a heartfelt song that he wrote about his friend and felt that his audience could identify with it. Getting him to add it back to his setlist.(H(3)

As the night progressed, he walked around the stage, making sure everyone could see him from every angle. He began performing more acrobatics on stage, jumping off the stage to sing face to face with the crowd.

He performed his most famous songs from TikTok such as “Beautiful Things,” “Cry,” “In the Stars,” and “Slow It Down.” Fans were overjoyed to hear songs in person that they could previously only hear on their phones, making this concert even more surreal.

On “In the Stars,” Benson slowed down a bit with his audience, telling them he was dedicating it to “anyone who has lost someone important to them.” He asked the audience to put down their phones to sing a meaningful song so that everyone around them could feel and sing the song in all its glory.(H(4) (W(5)

While this may have been a sad moment for some, fans loved it. Getting a glimpse into Benson Boone’s world through his songs made the audience feel closer to him.

Benson performed in a smaller venue than most up-and-coming artists, like Sabrina Carpenter or Olivia Rodrigo, but he made the audience feel more connected to him.

Benson sold out the concert and he created a meaningful experience for the audience. This means everyone can enjoy Benson’s music together and be close to him as fans. Mia Dowdy even explained, “It felt more intimate to be able to see Benson Boone so close, with only a little standing room (between him and the crowd).”

After the night was over, fans could still listen to him on the roof of the parking garage right next to the venue. He sang for all of his fans to hear his raw talent and be closer to them without the restrictions of a typical venue.

He will perform 11 more concerts in the United States this year, then head to Europe and then return at the end of this year before heading back to Australia and South America in January 2025.

Seeing an up-and-coming artist is once in a lifetime, with tickets this cheap there’s still time to see them. Grab your friends and you’ll all have an energetic, meaningful and unforgettable night that you won’t regret.
