A resurgent Travis Kelce helps the Chiefs beat the New Orleans Saints with a stellar first half as Taylor Swift cheers him on from the stands in Kansas City

Travis Kelce continued his upturn in form with a captivating performance as the Chiefs beat the New Orleans Saints 26-13 on Monday night and Taylor Swift cheered him on from the stands in Kansas City.

With the win, the Chiefs move to 5-0 heading into their bye week next weekend and continue their dominant start en route to a historic third straight Super Bowl triumph.

Kelce didn’t score a touchdown but had nine catches for 70 yards – his first half was particularly impressive as he entered the break with eight catches for 67 yards.

He even caused a wild upset at Arrowhead Stadium in the second quarter when he threw a lateral to Samaje Perine. His injured teammate Hollywood Brown took to X and wrote, “Travis Kelce is very good at football,” alongside a “goat” emoji.

There was a moment of panic in the second quarter. The cameras watched Kelce wince in pain after a hit to the left shoulder, but fortunately for the Chiefs, he was able to continue playing without any problems.

Kareem Hunt also had a promising performance with 102 yards and JuJu Smith-Schuster added 130 yards, including a 51-yard gain late when the Saints began to threaten.

Any hope of the Saints fighting back in the fourth quarter seemed to be dissipated when quarterback Derek Carr was forced out of the game in the final period due to a lean problem.

Moments earlier, Saints tight end Foster Moreau started the fourth quarter with a touchdown that cut the Chiefs’ lead to three points. But with Carr’s departure, hopes of a surprising result all but disappeared.

Swift, meanwhile, was in her third Chiefs game of the season after missing the last two road games against the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Chargers.

Her attendance had been highly anticipated, especially since she didn’t show up at Kelce’s Car Jam charity event on Saturday night, the day of his 35th birthday.

But she arrived just before kickoff of Monday’s game and took a seat next to her father, Scott, in Kelce’s VIP suite.

The Chiefs take a break next weekend and return on October 20 with a rematch of last year’s Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium in California.

Swift is in the final days of a break from her record-breaking Eras Tour, which continues with the first of three shows Friday night at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
