Mavericks vs Grizzlies preview, start time, TV schedule and injury report

The Dallas Mavericks host the Memphis Grizzlies in the opening game of their short preseason. Not many regular rotation players will get minutes, but it will still be nice to see the Mavericks on our TV or computer. Here are the most important things you need to know before tipping

  • WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs. Memphis Grizzlies
  • WHAT: The first preseason game for Dallas
  • WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas
  • WHEN: 7:00 Clock CST
  • HOW: Mavs.com or NBA League Pass

The injury report is LONG. Luka Doncic will miss the game (and probably most of the preseason) due to a bruised calf. Kyrie Irving is resting (from what, we’ll never know). Klay Thompson is in the same boat as Kyrie. PJ Washington Jr. is out with hip tightness. Maxi Kleber has been suffering from an ankle sprain for some time. Dante Exum is also out with a wrist injury that required surgery. Brandon Williams missed the game with a sprained ankle.

There is no official injury report for Memphis, but Jaren Jackson Jr. is out with a hamstring injury. It looks like other Memphis players are at least getting spot minutes, but there’s no one else out right now that I can find.

It’ll be fun to overreact to today’s game, but the reality is we shouldn’t take too much away from it. Positive things are good, negative things can be waved. I will do that. Or try it.

Thanks for hanging out at Mavs Moneyball. We’re back tonight with post-game coverage, including, but not limited to, a podcast with Josh and I on Pod Maverick immediately after the game. Join us live on YouTube and talk to us!
