    Vanderbilt football defeated a top-five team for the first time ever with its 40-35 victory over AP No. 1 Alabama on Saturday.

    In celebration after the game, Commodores fans stormed the field, tore down the south end zone goal post and marched it all the way to the river. Quarterback Diego Pavia was a big part of the surprise, throwing for 252 yards and running for 67 yards.

    Pavia and Vanderbilt will be featured on The Tennessean’s sports cover starting Monday. Now fans can celebrate Vandy’s victory with a commemorative cover of the Tennessean.
