Miami Dolphins Week 5 Inactive Breakdown

The Miami Dolphins’ list of inactive players for their Week 5 game against the New England Patriots once again featured primarily their most recent draft picks and young players.

What’s notable is that quarterback Skylar Thompson was simply listed as inactive, but not as the emergency third quarterback, meaning the Dolphins will start with Tyler Huntley and Tim Boyle against the Patriots.

Running back Jeff Wilson Jr. is the notable name on the inactive list. He was not listed on the injury report at the end of the week, although he played only two snaps against the Tennesee Titans on Monday night after suffering a knee injury before the game.

Wilson was made expendable in the matchday squad with Raheem Mostert back in the lineup after missing the last three games with a pectoral injury.

Tight end Terron Armstead, cornerback Kendall Fuller and linebacker David Long Jr. will also be back for the Dolphins.

New signing Tyus Bowser, who was signed off the Seattle Seahawks practice squad on Thursday, will be active. He received the nod ahead of fifth-round rookie Mohamed Kamara, who has not yet played this season.

Safety Jordan Poyer is the only starter on the active roster out due to injury. The Dolphins elevated Nik Needham from the practice squad on Saturday to make up for his absence.

The Dolphin’s inactives include CB Ethan Bonner, LB Channing Tindall and OL Andrew Meyer. They were inactive for the first three games but wore their uniforms against Tennessee due to injuries.

The Patriots’ list of inactive players is led by their two starting safeties, Kyle Dugger and Jabrill Peppers, both of whom are injured. Peppers was downgraded to OUT on Saturday while Dugger was listed as questionable.

The other inactive New England players are WR KJ Osborn, WR Javon Baker, QB Joe Milton III, DE Kromah Jamree and TE Jaheim Bell.

Unlike Thompson, Milton will serve as New England’s third emergency quarterback.
