Pittsburgh Steelers announce inactives for SNF vs. Dallas Cowboys

The Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1) have officially named their starting quarterback Russell Wilson inactive for the Week 5 home game against the Dallas Cowboys (2-2) on Sunday Night Football.

Wilson will once again serve as the forced third quarterback behind him Justin Fields And Kyle Allen.

Fields will make his fifth straight start as Wilson continues to recover from the calf injury he suffered on the eve of training camp, which aggravated just days before the regular season opener.

Fields has performed well in Wilson’s absence, throwing for 830 yards, three touchdowns and one interception on a 70.6% pass rate, the highest of his career. Fields ranks seventh overall in completion percentage, sixth in throws over 15 yards, seventh in blitzes and fifth in outside numbers.

The Steelers also have to do without the running back duo Jaylen Warren And Cordarrelle Patterson against the Cowboys. Warren is out for the second straight week with a knee injury, while Patterson is out with an ankle injury.

With Warren and Patterson out, there will be a rookie tailback Aaron Shamklin secure Najee Harris.

“Shamp is a very smart player,” Harris said of the former this week Harvard outstanding. “Also very physical for his size, just like Jaylen. We’re not shy or afraid of him going in there and passing the ball or doing anything that any other guy would do.

“Trust in him, trust in everyone in there. It’s not a downgrade from anyone. We are all excited about their possibilities. Shamp, it’s his second NFL game, I’m happy for him.”
