“The Texans let the struggling AFC East team out of steam before the Patriots game.”

The AFC East has gone from a recent juggernaut to a pillar of mediocrity entering the 2024 season. The New England Patriots are not encouraging about a rebuild. The Miami Dolphins don’t have a quarterback. The New York Jets can’t handle Aaron Rodgers and the Buffalo Bills have fallen behind after an undefeated start.

Buffalo scored 20 points while Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud found a rhythm, including six passes for 82 yards to former Bills star wideout Stefon Diggs. On the other hand, Josh Allen completed less than a third of his passes, went 9-for-30 through the air, and only managed 131 yards and a touchdown to rookie wideout Keon Coleman.

The Texans held on for their 23-20 victory, defeating the Bills for the second time in a row. Buffalo started the season 3-0 and had at least 30 points in every win. Since then, losses to the Texans and Baltimore Ravens have dented Buffalo’s identity while averaging just 16.5 points per game.

That leaves the Bills still in first place in the division at 3-2, as each team tries to establish its own brand of football in an uninspiring year for the AFC East.
