Kamala Harris rejects Trump’s claim that he is a “protector” of women

Kamala Harris dismissed Donald Trump’s recent claims as he told women, “You will be protected, and I will be your protector,” which he said while campaigning in Pennsylvania last month. “This is the same guy who said women should be punished for having abortions,” Harris said as a guest on the popular show Call her dad Podcast by Alex Cooper, released on Sunday.

Cooper cited the former president’s comments and asked Harris, who is running neck-and-neck against Trump in the presidential race, “What do you think?”

Harris didn’t hesitate to break everything down quickly and succinctly. “So, when he was president, he single-handedly selected three members of the Supreme Court of the United States with the intent that they would remove the protections of… Roe v. Wadeand they did exactly what he intended,” she began, answering the question.

“And there are now 20 states with Trump abortion bans, including bans that make no exception for rape or incest, which is what we just talked about, which means telling a survivor about a crime, about a violation of their body, they say .” “They have no right to make a decision about what happens next to their body, which is immoral,” she added.

“So this is the same guy saying this now. This is the same guy who said women should be punished for having abortions. This is the same guy who uses the kind of language he uses to describe women. So yeah, here we go,” she concluded.

On trend

Cooper said during her introduction before her 40-minute conversation with Harris that she had “gone back and forth” on whether or not she should address politics for her podcast or interview politicians at all, but she said she had “the conversation from “I know it’s me.” Qualified is the question about women’s bodies and the way we are treated and valued in this country.”

Cooper also said her team contacted Trump to be interviewed on her show. “If he also wants to have a meaningful and in-depth conversation about the rights of women in this country, then he is welcome Call her dad any time,” she said.
