Coach JB Bickerstaff makes his Pistons debut in the preseason opener against the Bucks

Detroit – The Detroit Pistons will open their five-game preseason schedule Sunday night against the Milwaukee Bucks at Little Caesars Arena. The game marks the debut of coach JB Bickerstaff, whom the Pistons hired following the departure of Monty Williams in June.

In addition to Bickerstaff, the game also marks the debut of a handful of veterans and rookies the Pistons added to their roster after a terrible 14-68 record last season. They signed Malik Beasley, Tim Hardaway Jr., Tobias Harris and Paul Reed in free agency to support their subpar play and the continued development of the young core.

During the 2024 NBA Draft, the Pistons selected former G League Ignite prospect Ron Holland II in the first round. They later acquired second-round pick Bobi Klintman in a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves. A bruised calf during practice sidelined Klintman against the Bucks.
