Saleh, a Muslim of Lebanese descent, made the questionable decision at a time when Hezbollah-controlled Lebanon had fired hundreds of rockets into Israel, killing and displacing many Israelis.

“Robert Saleh has undoubtedly alienated much of the Jewish community in York with the Lebanon flag on his top,” shared one social media user, X.

A satirical report from Jewish X wrote: “In an act of solidarity with Lebanon, Robert Saleh’s team is completely destroyed.”

Saleh was born in Dearborn, Michigan and is an American citizen, but his roots go back to Lebanon.
