Vikings vs. Jets score and NFL Week 5 updates: highlights, schedule, inactives, predictions, odds and analysis

In honor of Jayden Daniels’ historic start to his NFL career, Power Rankings is checking in on rookies this week. Daniels, the No. 2 pick in April’s draft, eclipsed top pick Caleb Williams and gave Washington Commanders fans hope that they have finally found their savior. In most other places the news isn’t quite as good, but we found a few highlights (or lowlights) for each.

Where do the Vikings and Jets stand this week?

1. Minnesota Vikings (4-0)

Last week: 4

Sunday: Defeat the Green Bay Packers 31-29

The Vikings are having the NFL’s most surprising season without much help from their rookie class. First-round quarterback JJ McCarthy was sidelined in the preseason with a knee injury, making way for Sam Darnold, who leads the league with 11 touchdown passes and has thrown just three interceptions. First-round edge rusher Dallas Turner has just five tackles and one sack in four games.

24. New York Jets (2-2)

Last week: 15

Sunday: Lost 10-9 to the Denver Broncos

First-round tackle Olu Fashanu made his first start on Sunday. Third-round wide receiver Malachi Corley was a disappointment (one catch, 4 yards), but fourth-round running back Braelon Allen played well enough (27 carries, 130 yards) that Robert Saleh had to defend. without giving him a goal. The line runs on Sundays. As for the old man, quarterback Aaron Rodgers doesn’t seem happy. “If your defense holds them to 10, you have to win the game 100 percent,” he said Sunday.
