BOISE STATE, IDAHO – It was a beautiful day for college football on the Blue! Over 37,000 fans flocked to Albertsons Stadium for the Broncos’ home game against the Utah State Aggies.

But all eyes were on No. 2 Ashton Jeanty as the Heisman candidate entered the game leading the nation in seemingly every offensive stat possible and was just 155 yards away from the thousand-yard mark for the season.

“I think I’ll see him win the Heisman in New York. I believe that because I see him working,” head coach Spencer Danielson said when asked about Ashton Jeanty’s performance.

The first quarter started hot. So hot that on the first play of offense, Jeanty took the ball 63 yards downfield to put the Broncos on the field. But he later ran a 75-yard dash into the end zone in the second quarter.

Jeanty had a game in which he finally broke the 1,000-yard mark, rushing for 186 yards on just 13 carries and making one more trip to the end zone in addition to his first two runs. But Jeanty wasn’t the only Bronco with a hat trick.

Quarterback Maddux Madsen had a pass rate of 21/25, scored 256 yards and three touchdowns, showed off all his weapons and met ten different players through the air.

But one of the biggest moments of the night came right after a huge touchdown pass from Utah State. Bronco returner Dylan Riley said, “Anything you can do, I can do better,” and fired the kick 96 yards to the house.

Special teams, special plays, special players like senior kicker Jonah Dalmas, who got his share of the spotlight, breaking the Mountain West career field goal record with his 84th. Which also made him the Broncos’ all-time leading scorer.

Dalmas expressed his thoughts after the game, saying: “I am very grateful and honored. But I couldn’t do the things I do if it wasn’t for the staff and those players on the team. They give me all the motivation.” . So to be able to accomplish this tonight is truly a blessing.”

But even on such a big night with a 62-30 win, Coach Danielson made it clear that the job isn’t done.

“You have to learn and grow from the victories. The best teams learn and grow when they win, and that’s what we have to do,” Danielson said.
