Jeremiah Smith has done it again. The Ohio State freshman receiver made his second straight one-handed touchdown catch, giving the Buckeyes their second score against Iowa. No. 3 Ohio State won 35-7 and improved to 5-0.

Smith caught the 4-yard TD with just his right hand while fending off Hawkeyes cornerback Deshaun Lee with his left.

The highlight-reel catch capped a nine-play, 86-yard drive on Ohio State’s first possession of the second half. Before his touchdown grab, Smith threw a 53-yard pass to reach the Iowa 4-yard line.

Last week against Michigan State, Smith made two one-handed catches against the same two Spartans defensive backs on Ohio State’s final drive before halftime.

The first was a 27-yard jump throw between two MSU defenders. The second grab was for a touchdown after Smith beat his defender at the line and stormed past him to catch a throw from quarterback Will Howard.

The second one-hander gave the Buckeyes a touchdown and a 24-7 lead by halftime.

Against Iowa, Smith finished the game with four catches for 89 yards and a touchdown, along with a 14-yard rush.

Howard threw for 209 yards with four scores and one interception and completed 21 of 25 passes. Emeka Egbuka caught three touchdowns for 71 yards among his nine receptions. Quinshon Judkins led the Buckeyes in rushing with 78 yards on 13 carries, while TreVeyon Henderson added 61 yards on 11 carries.

The Hawkeyes were led by Kaleb Johnson’s 86 yards rushing on 15 carries with a touchdown. Quarterback Cade McNamara threw for just 98 yards on 14 of 20 passes with one interception. He was also fired three times. Iowa had 225 yards of total offense and 10 total first downs.
