Oregon State Football vs. Colorado State: Live Scores, Updates

The Colorado State Rams lead the Oregon State Beavers 7-0 in the second quarter of a college football game at Reser Stadium in Corvallis on Saturday afternoon. The game will be broadcast live on The CW. You can watch live for free with Fubo (free trial) or with DirecTV Stream (free trial).

LIVE UPDATES

OSU running back Jam Griffin, who left with an injury after fumbling the ball on the Beavers’ second drive, is out for the remainder of the game.

Ram’s third drive

The Beavers defense delivers again. After allowing a 23-yard run on the first play of the drive, the OSU defense stymied Colorado State and forced a punt on 4th-and-17 at the CSU 31-yard line. The Beavers were helped by an offensive pass interference penalty and a fall by Rams quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi on a deep pass to Tory Horton. Colorado State had to punt for the second time in a row.

Third trip of the Beavers

At least the Beavers didn’t commit a turnover? OK…it was another tough ride for Oregon State. After Anthony Hankerson gained 12 yards on the first two plays, the Beavers gained just seven yards on the next three downs and had to punt. OSU is 0-3 on its first three possessions.

Ram’s second drive

The Beavers’ defense withstood the quick turnover of possession and forced Colorado State into a three-pointer. The Rams gained just eight yards.

Second drive of the beavers

OSU’s second possession couldn’t have ended much worse. After six plays and two first downs, the Beavers had another turnover And lost a key player to injury. On a 1st-and-10 play at Colorado State’s 47-yard line, Jam Griffin fumbled while taking a nasty hit, then limped off the field with an apparent left leg injury. Nuer Gatkuoth caused the fumble and Will Prendergast recovered for the Rams. Griffin’s legs bent awkwardly during the game and after a brief on-field evaluation, he left the game and went directly to the injury tent on the OSU sideline.

Ram’s second drive

Colorado State wasted no time in making McCoy and the Beavers pay for their early mistake. On first-and-10 from the 12-yard line, Justin Marshall took a handoff and raced left, sprinting untouched for a 12-yard touchdown run. The Rams strike first and take an early 7-0 lead.

Beavers open the way

Gevani McCoy chose a bad time to throw his first interception of the season. McCoy hit Jermaine Terry II in the hands with a short pass over the middle, but CSU linebacker Chase Wilson hit Terry the moment he touched the ball and he shot into the air. Gabe Kirschke selected it for a pick. The Beavers’ opening attack was sloppy and included two penalties and McCoy’s pick. Difficult start for the Beavers.

Rams’ opening drive

Colorado State gained a first down and seemed to gain some momentum early against the OSU defense. But the Rams were derailed by back-to-back video reviews — which nullified first-down plays — and were forced to punt. The second review negated an 8-yard first down run and set up a 4th-and-5 at Colorado State’s 46-yard line.

The Beavers won the toss and elected to wait for the second half. So the Rams get the opening kickoff.
