Bronny James appears to attack Darvin Ham when he talks about JJ Redick

As the Los Angeles Lakers begin a new NBA season, they have one thing on their minds: championships. This franchise has always been about winning, and this new season is no different.

Former head coach Darvin Ham left and was replaced by former NBA guard JJ Redick. Redick will be tasked with trying to maximize the group of players on the Lakers’ roster, a similar core to the one the team had last season.

Los Angeles was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Denver Nuggets, in a series they felt they should have won. But there were more problems in Los Angeles, starting with Ham at the top of the coaching staff.

During training camp this year, several Lakers mentioned the difference between Redick and Ham. That includes rookie guard Bronny James, who appeared to target the former Lakers coach when discussing Redick.

“He’s been a great coach so far. The vibe in the facility has been great so far, so I feel like the vibe is even better compared to last year from what I’ve heard.”

Even if this was not an intentional shot at Ham, James’ comment can be understood as such. The rookie likely learned about the team’s “vibe” from his father, LeBron James.

The newbie is not the only one making such claims as several members seem to be happier and freer with Redick. They praised the first-time head coach for his communication and openness to discussing different basketball ideas.

Redick really seems like a player-coach, which is probably because he was a player just a few years ago. But he has remained loyal to the sport of basketball and brings a more modern sense of the game to Los Angeles.

If the good environment in Los Angeles continues, the Lakers could have a successful season. It won’t be easy, especially with all the talent the NBA has these days. But Redick is determined to prove the outside world wrong.

But the Lakers are confident in their chances with All-Stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the roster. When both are healthy, the Lakers have a chance to win every time, especially in the playoffs.
