Chelsea v Nottingham Forest, Sunday, 2pm

Nottingham Forest will not be as welcoming to Chelsea as Brighton was last weekend, who showed great tactical insight to force their way through Brighton’s chaotic defence.

Enzo Maresca is developing well with a team that is growing in confidence and has won its last five games in all competitions. It’s not perfect, but winning is a great habit.

Chelsea are expected to come out on top, but Forest’s defensive strategy under Nuno Espirito Santo deserves more respect than the markets are giving them here.

In the 27 games since his appointment, only Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool have had a better expected goals against performance than Forest (1.24 per 90), and overall they have only conceded two or more goals in five of their last 20 competitions. The under 2.5 goals limit at 6/4 on Sky Bet should give bettors a great run.

Who knows which team will show up at Villa Park? Not even the manager.

But this could be a great spot for United if they are there.

Aston Villa poured so much physical and emotional energy into a performance and result for the ages against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night – a night that once again showed what a master tactician Unai Emery is.

But they may not need to be anywhere near that level to win if United emerge from the first half against Tottenham.

Just do the basics and you can beat this Ten Hag team.

The results market is a minefield, but Youri Tielemans offers a betting angle. Based on his performances at the start of the season, he is quickly becoming one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and is at 7/2 on Sky Bet, which would be his fourth assist of the season.

He appears to be fully utilized in this role and is given license to participate in attacks and also act as a playmaker from deep. His increasing influence is reflected in him having almost 20 more touches of the ball per game than last season, completing 1.4 more passes in the final third and, most importantly, creating 2.2 chances per game.

It’s a shame that the markets are completely focused on the prospects of the targets. The odds for over 3.5 goals are 10/11 at Sky Bet, so we’ll have to get a little more creative to find a winner.

Step forward Dejan Kulusevski – a player who has rewarded followers of my betting efforts over the years, and he is once again in bet-worthy form.

I love the role he plays in this Tottenham midfield, where Rodrigo Bentancur provides security at the base and Kulusevski and James Maddison are given license to operate in dangerous areas.

The Swede was phenomenal at Old Trafford last weekend, creating seven chances in the impressive win and scoring with a clever finish. The 11/8 with Sky Bet for a goal or an assist screams support.
