While the appeal of a guy doing Death Cab mixes for Chrismukkah is and was largely self-evident, I also wonder if there was a little (gasp!) strangeness to my Seth Cohen obsession. His long-held crush on Summer is, after all, basically the equivalent of Jay Gatsby reaching for the green light on Daisy Buchanan’s dock, and I wonder if some completely unaware part of me noticed that way back in seventh grade – one year , in which I built a shrine of Abercrombie models torn out of magazines on my bedroom wall – which I identified with Seth’s longing for the girl of his dreams. Yes, that was Seth My Forever a crush, but was he too… a way to stare at Rachel Bilson’s big brown eyes and shiny hair as much as I wanted, with the excuse that I just wanted to learn to be the kind of girl a man could be is which I capitalize? –L Did you like it?

The girls I once sat at the collage table with and I are all in our thirties now, and I have to hope that we all allow the respective soft animals of our bodies to love what they love. I, for one, am now bisexually confident enough to admit that I had (and still have?) crushes on both Seths. And Summer, and although I’m a little amazed at how red-faced and giggly I get every time Adam Brody comes on screen Nobody wants thatI try to respect my tween self’s decision long ago to have a crush that has unlikely stood the test of time. Leighton Meester, you are one lucky woman!
