There is a lot to learn about community college district policies and frameworks. My only first-hand experience with Moorpark College was five years ago when my son came home extremely upset because he was “forced” to take a women’s studies course in order to get his AA degree. He had to finance his tuition fees by working and attending school. There have been other observations about the waste of public and working student funds, but I will refrain from mentioning them.

Since then, I have made a special effort to stay informed about the latest education legislation passed in Sacramento.

The diversity, equity, and inclusion of higher education at our local colleges (and UTK-12), with a few small exceptions, have a tangible impact on the confused and immature minds of our youth.

That brings me to Trustee Perez. He is a kind, soft-spoken gentleman with endless bonding ideas and a firm appreciation for the DEI cultural revolution.

I read it weeks ago Simi Valley Acorn that our former Councilwoman Ruth Luevanos has filed election forms for the Ventura County Community College District Area 4 trustee position.

Ms. Luevanos, a veteran public school teacher somewhere in the Valley and a memorable DEI advocate, is a troubling idea for our struggling college district board.

She recently attended a Simi Valley Council meeting and accused the panel of being “racists and bigots.”

She is known for her Facebook video in which she accuses Mr Trump of “locking foreign children in cages”. She is a supporter of “open US borders” and “free education for all illegals.” She believes in victimhood and has reported citizens because of a Facebook joke. Ms. Luevanos stated that her life was “threatened by a yard sign” and therefore needed police protection.

Every time she speaks, she leaves a trail of gasps behind her.

I urge all voters not to support her and to vote for another politically savvy resident, Joe Piechowski of Simi Valley.

We need mental health and sanity remedies to return to our campuses.
