5-bedroom home for sale in Richardson offers stylish updates inside and out

On a quiet cul-de-sac in Richardson, a two-story home offers all the qualities of a stylish, thoughtful renovation. Although the home was built in 1970 and expanded by the previous owners, the current seller gave the home a third life with a recent renovation that considered both aesthetic and practical elements.

The home stands out on its 0.27-acre corner lot with bricks freshly painted a rich green. At 2,716 square feet, it includes connected living areas—kitchen, dining room and main living room—as well as five bedrooms, three bathrooms and a second living room.

The 12-foot-long kitchen island with cooktop and hood is both functional and eye-catching. The island and hood are painted a sleek black that contrasts with the white countertops and built-in cabinetry. A bay window above the sink lets natural light into the space. In the adjacent living area, a brick-surrounded fireplace adds a cozy touch, while glass doors lead outside.

The Northwood Hills neighborhood is a hidden gem with small-town charm in North Dallas

“I think it’s very convenient because there’s a whole second living space in the back,” says realtor Heather Kobs of Keller Williams Central. “You can put your Xbox or your kids’ living space in the back and then have a (space) in the front that’s great for entertaining.”

The first floor master suite has a luxurious bathroom with a wet area that includes a freestanding bath and shower. Two further bedrooms and a bathroom are located on the first level, as is the additional living space. The remaining bedrooms and bathroom are located on the second level of the home.

The home’s large carport, which serves in lieu of a garage, can be used not only for parking cars but also for outdoor activities or even entertaining. The fenced-in backyard features a large patio accessible from the master suite and main living area. Doors in the kitchen open to another patio located in the side yard, where Kobs said neighbors often gathered.

1201 N. Waterview Drive is part of the Richardson Heights Estates North neighborhood in West Richardson, just north of Arapaho Road. People are drawn to this area, Kobs notes, because of its convenient location and its well-respected public schools. This home is adjacent to Mohawk Elementary School, Richardson North Junior High School and Pearce High School.

In addition to aesthetic and design updates, the home also features new plumbing and electrical. The upstairs air conditioning can also be turned off when the area is not in use, so future owners can easily live in the basement should they so choose. The list price is $895,000. “For a home that has been completely renovated, has all new systems, powers the Mohawk and has everything it has,” Kobs says, “the price is pretty good.”
