4 Bridgeport men charged with gunpoint store and truck robbery

BRIDGEPORT – Four city men face federal charges for the armed robbery of several retail stores and an Amazon delivery truck, prosecutors said.

U.S. Attorney Vanessa Roberts Avery said in a news release Friday that a grand jury had indicted the three men. The indictment was unsealed this month for offenses that occurred in December 2022 and January 2023.

Avery identified the Bridgeport residents as Elijah Raffington, 21; Rajonne Blake, also known as “Ray Ray,” 25; Shasson Daniels, 20; and Mickyeem Profit, 21.

Avery said the indictment includes six counts, each of which contains multiple counts of obstruction of public commerce by robbery. Each count carries a maximum prison sentence of 20 years.

In addition, Daniels and Profit were charged with carrying, using and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, while Raffington and Blake were charged with aiding and abetting a crime of violence.

The charges relate to the armed robberies of a delicatessen, a tobacco shop and an Amazon delivery truck in Bridgeport, as well as the robberies of a tobacco shop in Milford and a gas station in Stratford, prosecutors said.

The indictment was filed in mid-July but was not unsealed until Aug. 1, after Blake’s arrest, prosecutors said. Raffington, Daniels and Profit were already in custody at the time. All defendants pleaded not guilty at arraignment in federal court in New Haven, officials said.

The defendants all remain in custody. Prosecutors said the robberies were investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bridgeport police, Stratford police and Milford police.
