Next week marks the anniversary of ohmthe latest Deftones album. But even without releasing new music, Deftones remain hugely relevant in the world of heavy music. Among the recent wave of heavy shoegaze bands, Deftones might even have a bigger impact than My Bloody Valentine. This year, Deftones have played major festivals like Coachella and Lollapalooza, and their own Dia De Los Deftones fest is taking place in their hometown of San Diego in November. Today, Deftones announced a major arena tour across North America.

The upcoming Deftones tour kicks off next February in Portland and will be their first headlining tour since 2022. It also has a couple of impressive openers. The Mars Volta, another experienced, witty act, is at every show. So is Fleshwater, perhaps the biggest of the newer bands who Deftones clearly hold in very high regard. This should be a good tour.
