Seattle Mariners offense has had a solid run over the last two weeks

The Seattle Mariners are in the midst of their final stretch for the playoffs, with 12 games still to go.

The Mariners’ remaining series are games against the New York Yankees, Texas Rangers, Houston Astros and Oakland Athletics – with the Yankees opening at 6:40 p.m. PT on Tuesday at T-Mobile Park.

Seattle was 4.5 games out of first place in the American League West and 2.5 games out of the third AL Wild Card spot before its off day on Monday.

For the Mariners to make the playoffs, everyone will have to play their best baseball in the final week and a half of the season.

Therefore, it is good that the offense plays like one of the best in the league.

In the Mariners’ last 11 games (September 4-15), they had a .292 batting average, scored 67 runs, had 112 hits (43 extra-base hits), had 185 total bases and an OPS of .858. According to Mariners PR, all of these statistics are the best in the league during that time period.

Seattle has a record of 8-3 since September 4th.

Seattle has also hit 15 home runs during this period – tying with the Colorado Rockies for the third most in the league, behind the Los Angeles Dodgers (18) and the Arizona Diamondbacks (17).

The Mariners had one of the worst offenses in the league for most of the season, at times even historically bad performances.

But it seems that the offense has finally found its rhythm under the guidance of new hitting coach Edgar Martinez and the direction of Dan Wilson (both hired on August 22).

Now we can only hope that Seattle can hold this position at least until the end of the season. And that it is not too late to make a contribution to reaching the playoffs.
