Billy Napier and Florida experience another nightmarish afternoon in Gainesville.

Two weeks after the Gators were beaten by Miami to start the 2024 season, it appears they’re doing it again. Texas A&M leads Florida 20-0 at halftime.

As Florida left the field and headed to the locker room, Gator fans at The Swamp showed their displeasure with the first half performance. Here’s a video of Napier sprinting to the locker room as Florida fans booed:

Florida was a slight underdog in this matchup, but the Gators were barely competitive for the 30 minutes of football. Texas A&M was able to build a 3-point lead over the Gators despite being forced to use backup quarterback Marcel Reed on Saturday.

Florida has some uncertainty of its own at quarterback. Graham Mertz started and completed 4 of 6 passes for 54 yards in the first half. Freshman DJ Lagway also played, but threw an interception during his brief stint on the field.

Florida is still looking for its first FBS win of the season.
