Many local hospitals will remain open during Hurricane Francine, but plan to close their clinics in advance of the storm.

Katie Johnston, communications director for Baton Rouge General, says the hospital system has generators with extra fuel and emergency power plans have been put in place.

“We were busy in real time with all of our storm preparations, from planning necessary personnel and sleeping quarters to evacuation plans and checking food and medicine supplies,” Johnston says.

Camryn Curtis McCarter, marketing and communications specialist at Our Lady of the Lake Health, says the system’s emergency preparedness team will stay in touch with local and state agencies to assist the community. The hospital has also brought in its emergency supplies, including water, linens and personal protective equipment, to maintain operations during the storm.

Here is a list of hospitals and clinics and their operating plans during the storm.
