Vanna White and Pat Sajak spent some quality time together in the days leading up to Ryan Seacrest’s first appearance as host of “Wheel of Fortune.”

The famous TV duo were spotted enjoying a leisurely lunch at California Pizza Kitchen in Encino, California on Tuesday, September 3. The 77-year-old former “Wheel of Fortune” host lives nearby with his wife Lesly Brown. The TV star and the former model have been married for 35 years.

Sajak and White, 67, were beaming and appeared to be in good spirits during their lunchtime outing.

White wore a beautiful flowing pink dress and silver sandals, while Sajak opted for a blue shirt, chino pants, blue canvas shoes and sunglasses.

At one point, the television icons huddled together and appeared to be looking at something on White’s cell phone.

Despite their long-standing working friendship, the two were rarely photographed together. White joined Wheel of Fortune in 1982, just a year after Sajak started.

Sajak and White are said to have continued to have a good relationship since Sajak announced his departure from “Wheel of Fortune” after four decades at the helm.

He announced his exit in June 2023. His final show aired on June 7, 2024 after 41 seasons with over 8,000 episodes. White will continue in season 42.

Ryan Seacrest, 49, took over as host following Sajak’s departure. The first episode hosted by Seacrest aired on Monday.

After landing the job, Seacrest said in a June 2023 statement posted on social media shortly after Sajak announced his retirement that he was “very honored to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak.”

“I can say, like the rest of America, that it was a privilege and a pure joy to have Pat and Vanna (White) on our television screens for 40 unprecedented years, making us smile every night and making us feel at home with them,” he added.

In February 2023, the former host of “American Idol” announced that he would be leaving his job as co-host of “Live with Kelly and Ryan” after six years on the show. He taped his last episode in April of the same year.

After it was announced that Seacrest would replace Sajak, White said she was “very concerned” about her on-camera chemistry with the multi-talented host.

“I’ve known Ryan for probably 20 years,” White said in an interview on Sept. 1. “But in the last few months we’ve been traveling together for the show and getting to know each other a little better, so I think we have a good chemistry.”

“I had no idea what to expect after being used to one person for so long,” she added, referring to Sajak.

“I was very scared,” she admitted. “But he’s doing a great job.”

Although Sajak has left “Wheel of Fortune” as host, he signed a three-year deal to work as a consultant for the show. He will also host the spinoff “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune,” which returns on October 14.
