Lacey Chabert hints that Hallmark Celebrations show is not going according to plan

Life is not always a party, but thanks to Lacey ChabertWith each new episode of Hallmark+, it can feel like one.

“I love to celebrate. I love to celebrate life in general and celebrate the people in my life, my loved ones,” Chabert, 41, said exclusively We weekly the inspiration behind her show, Celebrating with Lacey Chabert“I love throwing parties for my daughter, so I’ve always dreamed of doing a show where we celebrate people who are so deserving.”

In the show, which premieres Tuesday, September 10, Chabert works with two event planners to organize a fun party for a worthy hero over the course of three days. The actress’ “favorite moment” in each episode is when the hero, who thinks he is filming a documentary interview, learns that his loved ones and the community have nominated him as the recipient of the party.

Chabert said there was a “format” to Celebrationsstarting with meeting the hero, getting to know his family and friends through the “investigative work” and hearing from those who have been positively influenced by the hero. However, party planning doesn’t always go as smoothly as it may seem on TV.

“It’s not scripted and even though there is a plan, things don’t always go according to plan,” laughed Chabert. She joked that since people have jobs and are in school, her team “sneaks around” and “tries to keep it a secret.”

The Hallmark star revealed that they “lost venues due to weather issues” and had some mishaps “right before the celebration,” but with a little flexibility, all events were able to go ahead.

“You just go with the flow and make the best of it, and everything worked out the way it was supposed to,” Chabert teased, adding that she “cried in every episode” because the celebrations were so wonderful. She recalled being “really touched” by the moment the hero walked into the room and felt the love of his community.

Additionally, Chabert was happy to be able to bring attention to each recipient’s nonprofit, which viewers will learn more about each week. “(We’ll) hopefully bring awareness to the project to a larger community that will also want to pitch in and support,” Chabert said of the philanthropy spotlight.

Fans of Chabert will have to wait until Tuesday, September 10, to see her on the Hallmark+ TV show – but it is not her only September project for the network. She will also appear on Hallmark Channels For him and herwhich premieres on Saturday, September 7th at 8 p.m. ET.

“It was our tenth film together and it was just so much fun to be on set together again, especially in a film where we play husband and wife, so we’re already married,” Chabert said. Us the romantic comedy, in which her long-time boyfriend also plays Brennan Elliott.

Chabert said she had “a blast” working with Elliott, 49, because they had “a history together and that trust and that friendship.” (The pair previously starred in Hallmark Mysteries Crossword Puzzle Franchise and the With all my heart Trilogy.)

In For him and herChabert and Elliott play married lawyers who are pitted against each other as they represent a reality show couple in their divorce. “We have a different dynamic in this movie,” Chabert said, adding that it was fun to play “two people in love” who are already married after playing newly-in-love couples or co-workers in the past.

“Brennan is such a great partner in the scene because you can try something and he just goes with the flow,” she enthused. “He’s honest with you and tells you whether it worked or not, and we’re there to support each other.”

“(I hope) that the kindness and the uplifting messages and just the nostalgic feeling that people go to the movies for will come across in the show,” Chabert said. Us“I think they’ll see that come to life in the unscripted show. It’s the same comforting warmth that’s so typical of us.”

Celebrating with Lacey Chabert Premieres on Hallmark+ on Tuesday, September 10. Beginning Thursday, September 12, new episodes will air every Thursday on Hallmark’s brand new streaming service.
