Matt Hardy would like to retire this AEW star Bryan Danielson

AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson admits he is done with his in-ring career, and said he would quit full-time action once he loses the championship he won from Swerve Strickland at All In. Danielson will put the AEW World Championship on the line for the first time at All Out in Chicago against The Elite’s Jack Perry. The other major feud on the All Out card is a personal one involving former champions Strickland and “Hangman” Adam Page. On a recent episode of his podcast, The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Hardy discussed both fights, and specifically who from the blood feud he would like to see face the new champion, assuming Perry loses his opportunity. Hardy stated he would “love” to see Page defeat Strickland and then Strickland try to get another win, but “Hangman” refuses to wrestle him.

“I think Hangman is going to be great as a heel. He was obviously so vicious. He was such an asshole, just a really vicious, horrible human being,” Hardy said. “I would love to see that, if he was the guy that actually retired Danielson, took the title away from him, whatever, and you could build back on the Swerve thing, and I think there would automatically be equity in it if they did that.”

Page vs. Strickland currently has no world title implications, but the two will face off in an unsanctioned “lights out” steel cage match. Danielson previously issued a challenge for his title on an episode of “AEW Dynamite” that was answered by TNT Champion Perry, who put Danielson on the mat during the Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing.
