Oklahoma State wins with defensive touchdown against Arkansas

Oklahoma State didn’t get off to a particularly good start in its game against the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Cowboys had to punt the ball and struggled to stop the run. The slow start led to an early deficit in Stillwater.

Trailing 14-0, there was no offensive rhythm. Alan Bowman didn’t look as sharp as he did a week ago and the quarterbacks weren’t getting the ball into open space. To make matters worse, the Cowboys were unable to stop the Razorbacks’ offense.

However, junior defensive back Kale Smith gave the Cowboys the lead when he made a 73-yard pick-six.

Truthfully, Oklahoma State desperately needed a spark or a play to get the game rolling, and Smith’s electrifying interception did just that. Now trailing 14-7, the Cowboys defense will have to continue to play better and get a stop if they can’t force another turnover.

The offense needs to improve significantly. Whether it’s a change in plays or Bowman’s heroic plays at quarterback, Oklahoma State simply needs more from its offense.
