Good morning AmericaGinger Zee got a look behind the scenes of Wheel of Fortune and took the fans on the journey.
New host Ryan Seacrest and the legendary Vanna White were on hand to show Zee her new home.

They were both excited about the premiere. “I mean, it’s Wheel of Fortune. How could you not be happy?” Seacrest said. White added, “It’s energetic, it’s positive, it’s fun… I’m so excited.”

Seacrest noted that taking over the hosting job after Pat Sajak retired from the role was an “out-of-body” experience. “Having seen Vanna and this show and Pat (Sajak) and what they’ve built with audiences across the country and what this show means to people every night in their living rooms and their families and generations of people who have watched this show, it’s something very special that doesn’t exist anywhere else,” he explained.

Seacrest said he prepared for the performance by watching “endless episodes of Pat and Vanna on Wheel of Fortune.” He remarked: “We played a mock fraud. Wheel of Fortune Playing in many cities across America, depending on where I am. On conference tables, in meeting rooms. We have improvised wheels and improvised participants for months just to kind of improve the gameplay and the timing and the pacing. And hopefully it all pays off.”

The American Idol The presenter said the biggest thrill is meeting three new people each night who win cash and prizes – and he doesn’t think that excitement will ever wear off.

“I don’t know if we’ll ever settle in,” he said. “I look forward to it every time. I really do. I enjoy being the person who can introduce a singer to an audience, or who can play a new song on the radio, or who can meet three people from across the country (and) help them win money and prizes. That part never gets old.”

He added: “That’s what this show is about.”

As for the set, Wheel of Fortune got a shiny update and it looks amazing! Perhaps the biggest change is that White now has a brand new puzzle board with some cool tech upgrades. “I don’t even have to touch the letter anymore,” she said. “It’s a blank screen with a video on it. There are lasers up there, and when I touch a letter, it senses the movement of my hand and lights up. Isn’t that crazy?”

Zee got on the bike and took it for a spin – it still has all the retro charm that fans love. She shared that there are “tons of new prizes,” including some hot items like “tickets to NFL games” and “tickets to see some of the biggest artists in music.”

Seacrest explained that the best way to Wheel of Fortune is to keep what fans love so much about it. “Don’t change anything. Leave it alone,” he said. “This show works. I just have to keep it going. We just have to have fun every night. And I think if that happens, this show will go on for a long time.”
