Troy (2004)

Wolfgang Petersen can turn anything into popcorn entertainment. His resume includes a CIA thriller (In the line of fire), a medical thriller (outbreak), a plane hijacking (Air Force One) and a disaster drama (The perfect storm). In 2004, Petersen directed a loose interpretation of Homer’s work Iliad In Troy. For those unfamiliar with the Trojan War, the film depicts the battle between Troy and Sparta.

Troy isn’t quite a history lesson on the Trojan War, but Petersen’s fight scenes are pretty exciting, especially when Pitt fights.

Army of the Dead (2021)

Desperate for money, Ward agrees and assembles a diverse group of soldiers to complete his mission. Snyder recognizes the ridiculousness of the situation, resulting in a fun and violent zombie heist adventure.

Hold the Dark (2018)

2024 was remarkable for Jeremy Saulnier. The Green room The filmmaker released his first film in six years with Rebel Ridgean excellent action thriller starring Aaron Pierre as a former Marine fighting corruption in a small town. The film received almost universal praise, with many calling it one of the best Netflix originals of the year. As Russell begins his search, he realizes that people, not animals, are the biggest obstacle to his investigation.
