On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at approximately 8:11 a.m., police, fire and emergency medical services responded to the 3800 block of Shamrock Court in Port Republic for a reported major rescue after a tree removal vehicle overturned.

Callers to 911 reported that a tree feller with a bucket attachment had tipped over and the occupant was trapped in the bucket.

When rescue workers arrived on scene, they found the 29-year-old logger trapped in a CNC Arbor Pro Lift.

Firefighters from the Prince Frederick and St. Leonard volunteer fire departments rescued the victim in less than 30 minutes.

Maryland State Police helicopter Trooper 7 landed nearby to transport the adult male with unknown severity of injuries to a nearby trauma center. Paramedics were advised of a language barrier as the victim only spoke Spanish.

The company is licensed by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and the Department of the Environment.

The police responded and investigated the incident as an industrial accident.

No further injuries were reported.
