16 films with allegedly intense drama behind the scenes

He claimed that Snipes spent most of his time in his trailer, smoked weed all day, had his double do everything except close-ups, and tried to strangle the director.

Oswalt said, “We went to a strip club that night and we were all drinking. And there were a couple of bikers there, so (director) David (S. Goyer) said to them, ‘I’ll pay for all your drinks if you show up on set tomorrow and pretend you’re my security.’ Wesley freaked out and went back to his trailer. And the next day Wesley sat down with David and said, ‘I think you need to stop. You’re detrimental to this movie.’ And David said, ‘Why don’t you stop? We have all your close-ups and we could shoot the rest with your double.’ And that freaked Wesley out so much that for the rest of the production he only communicated with the director through Post-it notes. And he signed every one of those Post-its, ‘From Blade.'”

In 2020, Snipes denied attempting to strangle Goyer, telling the Guardian: “Let me tell you something. If I had tried to strangle David Goyer, you probably wouldn’t be talking to me right now. A black man with muscles who strangles the director of a movie is going to jail, I guarantee you that.”

He also denied the Post-it note story and ridiculed the notion that Oswalt was an “authority” on him, saying, “The assumption that a white man can make a statement and then that statement is true! Why should people believe his version is true? Because they tend to believe that the black man is always the problem. And all it takes is one person, Mr. Oswalt, who I really don’t know.”
