SARATOGA SPRINGS – The 103rd annual Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale set new records for gross, average and median proceeds, the company announced Wednesday.

The two-session horse sale was held August 5 and 6 at the Humphrey S. Finney Pavilion in Saratoga Springs and saw 154 yearlings sold for a record $82,160,000, surpassing the record of $75,055,000 set last year.

Average and median values ​​also exceeded 2023 records. The average rose from $487,370 to $533,506 and the median rose from $375,000 to $425,000. The sale also recorded an RNA (reserve price not met) rate of 18.5%, the lowest since 2015.

“It was a remarkable two nights of selling horses,” Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning said in a statement. “We were very confident that the quality of horses in this catalog was the best we’ve ever had when we came here this year. I think the buyers proved us right.”

The highest single sale price was $3.4 million for a Not This Time colt, the fifth most expensive colt in Saratoga Sale history. The colt was sold to Donato Lanni, an agent for Zedan Racing.

The second highest sale price was $2.4 million for a colt by Into Mischief. Lane’s End, agent for Pamela Wygod and The Wygod Family Revocable Trust, has taken the bay colt on consignment.

Other notable sales included:

A Gun Runner colt out of Secret Sigh was sold for $1,900,000 from consignment by Lane’s End, agent for Summer Wind Equine, to MV Magnier/White Birch.

A filly by Curlin was sold for $1,900,000 to West Bloodstock, agent for Robert & Lawana Low, from the consignment of Gainesway, agent for Don Alberto Corporation.

A colt by Gun Runner was sold to Resolute Bloodstock for $1,700,000 from consignment of agent Bluewater Sales.

A Gun Runner mare out of multiple Grade 1 winner Pure Clan was sold to Whisper Hill Farm for $1,500,000 on agent Gainesway’s consignment.

A colt by Tapit was sold to Flying Dutchmen for $1,500,000 from consignment by Lane’s End, an agent of the Don Alberto Corporation.

A first crop colt by multiple Grade 1 winner Charlatan was sold for $1,500,000 on consignment by Warrendale Sales, agent for Stonestreet Bred & Raised, to Resolute Bloodstock.

A Ghostzapper filly by Seeking the Blue was sold to Resolute Bloodstock for $1,200,000 on agent Gainesway’s consignment.
