Henrico County police and firefighters were dispatched to the 800 block of Maybeury Road at 4:48 p.m. The county’s emergency department received several calls related to a storm that had passed through the area, police said.

Police said they found the tree on the roof of the vehicle and the man inside dead. The area is a residential neighborhood south of Patterson Avenue.

Maybeury Road between Avalon Drive and Edson Road was closed during the investigation into the death. Police had not released the man’s name on Sunday evening.
