Two workers were hospitalized after falling into a container truck in Vernon on Friday morning, August 9, 2024.

According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the incident occurred around 8:20 a.m. at 4317 South Downey Road, south of the LA River.

Firefighters responded to a call for a confined space accident and discovered two people trapped in what appeared to be an empty container truck. The container appeared to be empty. How the two workers fell in is still unclear.

Both people were successfully rescued from the container and then taken to a local hospital. Their identities and the extent of their injuries were not disclosed.

Authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the incident.
